Sultano, as seen in Gentleman
Magda Mutti has prepared for Gentleman a syllabus that portrays in a handful of keywords and concepts – seven, to be precise – the coat of arms and feats of Ciccio Sultano, two Michelin starred Sicilian chef.
It takes little, indeed, besides sincerity, to tell the truth of a character, and this concise format works very well. In particular, for example, with the expressions: “salt, oil, wheat”, the trinity of personal and professional elements; “citric” which has now become a distinctive aspect of the chef; “Taratatà ”, the spaghetti that fight together with the Madonna of Scicli; and so on, until the final entry, Gabriella. For this latter, the answer is undoubtedly the most pertinent of all because it is an intimate and conscious one.
