An Award for the future at Taormina

As part of the Nations Award, at the Nations Cinematographic Awards, at the Greek theatre of Taormina, Ciccio Sultano, as an ambassador of agri-food sustainability, received an award dedicated to the future. Sustainability in a large restaurant begins with the choice of suppliers, their way of producing, this passes through to the well-being of customers and involves daily use of materials. Such as the re-use of plastic containers and the gradual abandonment of plastic, starting with cocktail straws.
«We no longer serve them with straws – Sultano says – and those who insist on drinking his cocktail with, we offer them a copper straw. But being eco-friendly also touches on other aspects: walking naked at home is good for the mind and is environmentally sustainable, using as little water as possible at home and in the restaurant is eco-sustainable, recycling the food left in the fridge at home is environmentally sustainable, collecting waste on the beach is environmentally sustainable, not bothering others thinking of their own failures and successes is environmentally sustainable …do not complain, but ac ».
During the evening in Taormina, two spaghetti dishes were served: one with tuna and mackerel from Testa Conserve, with lemon and stewed onion sauce, the other, the famous taratatà with bluefin tuna bottarga, selected by Sultano and refined by the master Alfio Visalli.
