È la sfida lanciata da Antonio Currò, sommelier del Ristorante Ciccio Sultano: niente schede e subito i vini da “osservare”, “fiutare”, “assaporare”. Tre azioni che sono anche il tema dei tre incontri molto informali, organizzati a I Banchi, nella sala conviviale, il 15 dicembre, il 22 dicembre e il 27 dicembre, dalle 17 alle 19. In tempo, per un capodanno da sommelier con un massimo di conoscenza pratica.
«Il punto è proprio questo – sottolinea Antonio Currò – parlare del vino, descriverlo, capirlo, lasciando da parte la teoria e stappando delle bottiglie. In ognuna delle tre serate, dedicate a tre momenti della degustazione, studieremo dal vivo, nel bicchiere, 4 vini, una bolla, un bianco, un rosso, un vino dolce.
«Sarei contento che non si prendessero appunti, ma che le cose dette rimanessero facilmente impresse nella memoria. Tutti, ma veramente tutti, possono capire facilmente il vino e sapere come abbinarlo».
Le serate a I Banchi comprendo anche degli assaggi per orientarsi nell’abbinamento dei vini. Il costo è di 50 euro a persona.

Understanding wine, without worries, and having fun
This is the challenge presented by Antonio Currò, sommelier of Ciccio Sultano’s Restaurant: no rules, no descriptions, just the wines to “observe, “sniff” and “savor.” Three simple actions that become the themes of three informal, upcoming dates organized at I Banchi in the convivial room on December 15th, December 22nd, and December 27th, from 5pm to 7pm. Just in time to play sommelier on New Year’s Eve with the right amount of practical knowledge.
“The point is to talk about wine, describe it, and understand it, tossing aside theory and simply uncorking the bottles – underlines Antonio Currò – In each of these three evenings, we will study 4 wines live in the glass: a sparkling, a white, a red, and a sweet wine.
Ideally, I’d be happy if no one took notes; my hope is that all of the things we discussed remain easily etched in your memory. Everyone, without a doubt, has the ability to understand wine and how to pair things.”
The appointments at I Banchi include small bites to orient oneself with ideal wine pairings. The cost is 50 euro per person.
